Important Note

Travelers joining for Everest base camp helicopter landing tour.

Please note and be aware that the helicopter does not land at Everest base camp.

Due to various good reasons, at base camp, the helipad for a chopper to land is not safe. The movement of glaciers and rock falls obstructs the helicopter from landing, the other reason is for ecological purposes.

The environment is very sensitive and fragile to glaciers, moraine, and ice which is on the verge of melting fast. that's why they land at Kalapathar to view Mount Everest.

The snow and glaciers are receding at an alarming pace due to greenhouse and global warming. From base camp, one cannot view

Mount Everest is blocked by other giant peaks.

For best views and following the norms of Eco and Responsible tourism.

The very good spot is at the top base of Kalapathar, safe as well for perfect closest views of Mount Everest.
