The Gokyo Valley is home to the world-famous Gokyo Lakes, which are renowned for their stunning beauty. Best Time

The best time to climb Island Peak is in the spring season (March to May) and autumn season (September to November). During these seasons, the weather is stable, and the days are relatively warmer and dry. The views of the surrounding peaks are also at their best during these seasons.

It is best to plan the trek for March to May and October to December to get the best views and experience the peak climbing and expedition as well as Nepal trekking.

Difficulty

The trek is considered to be of moderate difficulty and can be completed in 14-21 days, depending on your fitness level.

As you gain altitude, the scenery becomes even more spectacular, with the snow-capped peaks of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu Makalu, and Cho Oyu visible along the way. From Dingboche, the trek continues to the Gokyo Lakes, a series of six stunning glacial lakes. Here, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the serenity and natural beauty of this area.

From Gokyo, the trek continues to Everest Base Camp, where you will get the chance to explore the famous Khumbu Icefall and the surrounding glaciers. From the Everest Base Camp trek, you will then trek down to Chhukkung and go up to the island summit of Island Peak (6189 m). This is considered to be the most difficult section of the trek and requires a good level of fitness and ex-high-altitude mountaineering.
