Overview

Mera Peak climbing and Amphu Laptsa Pass

The famous Mera Peak Climb and Amphu Laptsa pass trek is a combined adventure inside the Everest region. The great adventure starts with a scenic flight to Lukla Airport- the gateway to Mount Everest. It then goes towards Mera Peak base camp via beautiful places Thuli Kharka and Khare. Eventually succeeding in the climb of Mera Peak at 6471 meters, the route then diverted towards the next challenge of Amphu Lapsta Pass.

Amphu Laptsa Pass is located at an elevation of 5400 meters above sea level. One of the challenging high passes in the Himalayas, the finest views of the mountains can be collected from Tashi Laptsa Pass. Upon completing the pass, the route then retraces back to Lukla via Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is widely famous as the Sherpa capital- where the famous mountaineer Sherpa lives.

As the trek goes inside the Sagarmatha National Park- a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site- the occasional encounters of wildlife are expected. The endangered species of Himalayan musk deer, snow leopard, and more have been making this national park their home.

Like other trekking inside the Everest region, Mera Peak Climbing and Amphu Laptsa Pass Trek is also a seasonal adventure. The best time to trip to Mera and Amphu Laptsa is the months of spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November).
