Our trek commences from the Arughat village which is located at an altitude of 300 meters and comes to an end at Chumling village located at an altitude of 3000 meters. Manaslu Larke Pass is the highest point in this trek up to where trekkers can go, which is situated at an altitude of 5,106 meters. Because of the long trek and challenging trails along the way, more strength in trekkers is required to complete this trek. Trekkers should walk for at least five to six hours a day on different and difficult terrains, including steep ascents and descents, and rocky and narrow paths.

The total cost for the 16-day with a guide and porter will range between $1,700 to USD 2,500. Accommodation, meals, guide and porter fees, and permit fees are included in this cost. 

Along with the above-given cost the trekkers also should carry more money for their gear, emergency evacuation insurance, and tips to guide and porter. There is also an important factor that the cost of travel from Kathmandu to Kathmandu may be added up to $400 - USD 600.

The permit cost is imposed to protect the fragile ecosystem and culture of the Manaslu region. The permits of MCAP and ACAP are the most important for this trek.

September to November USD 70 per person per week and USD 10 per day per person each additional day. December to August is USD 50 per person per week and USD 7 per day per person. Annapurna Conservation Area permit (ACAP) is USD 30 or NRS. 3390/. Another permit is also needed, which is the Manaslu Conservation Area permit (MCAP) costs USD 30 or Rs. 3390/.

Trip Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our representative will welcome you. You will be then transferred to the hotel. Later, you can take a good rest or walk around the local market in your free time.

The overland journey starts after breakfast. The route heads towards the mid-west zone from Dhading to Gorkha. You can collect wonderful views of green hills and the occasional views of the mountains along the way. The exciting journey also includes driving via the Trishuli and Budi Gandaki rivers to reach Soti Khola for the night. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge.

On the starting day of the trek, from Soti Khola, you walk following the Budigandaki River upstream crossing several farm villages and fields. With the views of nice waterfalls and villages, you continue your walking to cross a stream to reach Machha Khola. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge.

The walk starts with following the Budi Gandaki River upstream to reach Beshi. Beshi is a small farm village with few local houses. The route takes you to Tatopani, which means the natural hot spring. You will be spending some time and Tatopani to take a dip. Then after, you will continue your walk towards Jagat. Along the way, you will be passing the beautiful villages of Dovan and Yaruphant. You will be staying overnight at a local tea house.

You will be starting your trek after the delicious breakfast. The walk first leads to the higher areas passing the farm villages with a short climb. Then you will be crossing a bridge to reach Nagjet. Then you will also cross the wonderful village of Philim with the farmhouses.  Crossing the Philim village, you will be climbing to a rocky ridge inside the bamboo forest to reach Lakuwa. You will be staying overnight at a local tea house.

As always, you will be resuming your trek after breakfast. The route now enters into a narrow gorge with a short descent. Then take the uphill climb inside the dense rhododendron and pine forest passing several farm villages to Lungwa Khola. Then the final section uphill takes you inside the valley of happiness- Tsum. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse.

The finest journey inside Tsum Valley begins as the views of the Ganesh Himal accompany you. The local villages, the excellent landscapes similar to the Tibetan plateau, and more. The first section of the day is downhill to Samtiking Khola then to the village with the best views of Ganesh Himal. You will then further walk to Chokhan-Paro village for the night. You will be staying overnight at a local tea house.

The first climb section leads you to an open valley of arid terrain. Then the walk slowly continues with the best views of Ganesh Himal and Manaslu mountain. On the way, you will get the chance to visit Milarepa cave. Milarepa is a famous saint and Buddhist poet, singer, and tantric Guru of the 11th century. He is well-remembered by both Tibetans and Buddhists. You will be spending the night at Nele La at a local teahouse.

You will be starting your day after a delicious breakfast. The route to Mu Gompa is enriched with beautiful views of the Himalayas. The route this day is mostly uphill through the high arid terrain. Mu Gompa is the place of old Mu Gompa. This place also offers greater views of the mountains. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge.

This day is dedicated to exploring the local villages and visiting the famous Mu Gompa. Mu Gompa is one of the oldest monasteries in the Himalayas. Rich with ancient antiques, statues, and the finest architecture. Mu Gompa is the oldest and the most important monastery inside Tsum Valley and in the whole Manaslu area. After completing the visit to Mu Gompa, you can then explore the local villages. You will be then staying overnight at a local teahouse.

After spending the best time at Mu Gompa, this day you will be trekking to another famous monastery of Rachen Gompa. The route to Rachen is through different small yet wonderful villages passing the cattle herders. The route also includes a couple of uphill hills and downhill sections to reach Rachen Gompa. In the afternoon, you will be exploring the wonderful Rachen monastery. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse at Rachen.

The final day inside the wonderful Tsum Valley. You will be descending to Chumling village this day. In the morning, go and explore the Rachen Gompa, before making the descent to Chumling. In your free time, you can walk around the local village. You will be staying overnight at a local teahouse.

The morning starts with breakfast. Then follow the downhill route via the river downstream. You will be first reaching the village of Samba. Then passing a few more beautiful farm villages for Tingding and Chhupyang, you will be reaching Philim. Philim is one of the biggest villages on the route. Go and explore around the village in your free time. You will be staying overnight at a local lodge in Philim.

Into the lower elevation, the route to Tatopani is through the paddy fields via the Budigandaki River. Tatopani is a natural hot spring place. You can take a relaxing hot spring bath at Tatopani. The hot spring can relax your tired limbs and the whole body. Enjoy taking the soothing hot water bath. You will be spending your night at a local teahouse.
