Overview

Yala Peak Climbing

Yala Peak Climbing or Langtang Valley Trek is a combined trek and climb inside the famous Langtang Region. Located at an elevation of 5732 meters above sea level, the Yala Peak is a less technical climbing/trekking peak in Nepal. The peak can be climbed by a person without any previous climbing experience. Combined with Langtang Valley, the journey also includes visiting the famous Langtang Valley as well.

The exciting journey to the Yala Peak starts with a short drive to Syabrubesi from Kathmandu. From there passing Lama Hotel with the greater landscapes, dense rhododendrons, and bamboo forest with cascading waterfalls, it then reaches Langtang village. Lantang is an interesting village inhabited by the Tamang people. Tamang is one of many tribes of Nepal, living in the higher hilly region of Nepal, and has a unique culture, tradition, custom, and language.

The route from Langtang moves further to Kyanjin Gompa which is a nice place with good views of mountains and a Buddhist monastery. A side hike from Kyanjin Gompa to Kyanjin Ri offers fascinating views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal (7,405 m), Langtang Lirung (7,234 m), GhenguLiru (Langtang II 6,571m), Kimshun (6,745 m) and Shalbachum(6,918m), Chimsedang, Naya-Kanga or Ganja Chuli (5,846m), Gangchempo and more.

Then after the trip directs towards Yala base camp and then eventually to the top of exciting Yala Peak. The Yala Peak top offers superb views of the mountains again. After completing the fascinating adventure of Yala Peak climbing, it will then redirect back to Kathmandu to end the trip.

Like other trips in Nepal, Yala Peak Climbing and Langtang Valley Trek is also a seasonal adventure. The best time to trip is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). However, trekking in the months of winter (December to February) and monsoon (June to August) is not recommended.
